Join us in the intoxicating world of the Kit Kat Klub with Opera Wyoming’s production of Cabaret, where the music captivates and the lives of its performers and patrons are intricately interwoven. Set against the backdrop of 1931 Berlin as the shadows of the Nazi regime begin to loom, this masterful musical is brought to life entirely by a talented cast and crew local to Wyoming.
Center stage is the enigmatic Sally Bowles, a cabaret singer whose carefree desires are at odds with the encroaching political changes, and Cliff Bradshaw, an American writer swept up in the charisma and chaos of Berlin. Together, they navigate through a labyrinth of love, ambition, and identity amid the vibrant performances at the club and the unsettling changes outside its doors.
Featuring iconic music and dynamic local performances, Cabaret presents a seductive and poignant exploration of the pleasures and dangers of living life without boundaries. This production not only celebrates the era's dramatic contrasts—glamour tinged with grim realities—but also underscores the enduring relevance of its themes: freedom, prejudice, and survival.
Join us for a truly memorable experience; let the local talents of Wyoming's Kit Kat Klub entertain you. Remember, in here, life is beautiful, the girls are beautiful, even the orchestra is beautiful!
This production is supported in part by a generous grant from the Wyoming Arts Council.
